It has been a while but here is a major update on the Pulip dolls released for Sailor Moon. I will work to have them in order. I will place links in as I find them.

Since the last update, 11 Pulip Dolls and 3 DAL doll have been either released or announced.

Starting with the earliest announcement, we have the Chibi-Usa DAL doll. Announced back in May 2015, Chibi Usa is part of another part of the Pulip line, the Dal dolls, which are smaller and have more rounded faces. Ordering the doll from the premium Bandai Store (JP Only) also gets you the Luna-P plush exclusive and runs for ¥18,360 (about $150 USD). The doll is also $195 on J-List, which ships the the US and can also be around the internet. The dates seem to range from it being released in May on Sailor Moon Collectibles to Bandai Premium saying that it will ship mid-August.

Next Doll is Sailor Uranus as well as Sailor Neptune. Uranus was released June 2015 and Neptune was released in July 2015.

The Human Luna Pulip Doll released in August 2015. She is priced at ¥18000 Yen ($169.65 USD). Ordering the doll from the Bandai-JP Website came with Konpeito (Sugar Candy) hair ornaments. The dolls are listed on J-list for $195 USD. 

September 2015 saw the release of Sailor Pluto. She is priced at ¥17000 Yen (About $159 USD). Ordering the doll from the Bandai-JP Website came with the signature Setsuna Kaioh Lilac Suit.

October 2015 saw the long-awaited release of the Sailor Saturn DAL Pulip. She is priced at ¥17000 Yen (About $159 USD). Ordering the doll on the Bandai-JP Website came with Hotaru’s signature school outfit.

November 2015 saw the release of the Sailor-V Pulip. Priced on CDJapan for ¥18000 and on J-List for $195 USD. Ordering her off of Bandai-Jp came with an Artemis Plushie.

December 2015 saw the release of the Black Lady pulip doll. Priced at ¥18000. Ordering her off of the Bandai-JP website had her come with an Evil Luna-P Plush.

January 2016 saw the release of the Small Lady DAL pulip. She is priced at ¥18000. Ordering from the Bandai-JP website came with a small Millennium Silver Crystal.

March, April and May 2016 saw the release of the Sailor Starlight Pulips. The order of Release was: Sailor Star Fighter in March, Sailor Star Maker in April and Sailor Star Healer in May. Priced at ¥22000 yen. Ordering the dolls from the Bandai-JP website had them come with the School Uniforms/Three Lights outfits for Seiya, Taiki, and Yaten.

August 2016 will come out with Super Sailor Moon. She will be priced at ¥22000 (¥25000 for the Bandai-JP limited edition). Pre-Ordering her on Bandai-JP comes with the school uniform for Tsukino Usagi.

Finally August 2016/September 2016 will also bring the release of Neo Queen Serenity. She will be priced at ¥22000. Pre-Ordering her on the Bandai-JP website has her come with her Moon Stick and Silver Crystal.

Greetings fellow moonies! I have some good news to report on the career of Shoko Nakagawa. The famous multimedia personality, who has ties to Sailor Moon thanks to her portrayal of Diana in the recently aired “Crystal” series (and is an overall fan of the series), has landed a new hosting role on the TV show “Shumi Doki” (an educational variety TV show on Japan’s NHK E channel).

“Shumi Doki” is a well-known program in Japan that allows its viewers to examine various pastimes, and it will be offering a new segment on a cram school featuring prominent anime voice actors, who will cameo on the show as instructors. Nakagawa will play the class president and host the segment, and the talent that appears on the show will make voice acting an attractive career choice for viewers who watch. The Anime Voice Actors segment will air over the months of August and September, and will examine the occupation in depth with the help of a variety of professionals who have made a career out of voice acting. Masako Katsuki, who voiced Sailor Neptune in the original classic Sailor Moon anime series, will be appearing on the episode that is airing on September 15, 2015. Former Sailor Moon voice actors who have appeared on previous episodes of the show include Akira Kamiya (the voice of Dr. Souichi Tomoe) and Shigeru Chiba (who appears in SuperS episode 145 as Kurumiwario). In July, NHK published a book full of the voice actors’ tips and techniques to compliment the segments airing on TV. Masako Katsuki has been acting since 1982, and among a long list of achievements has also provided the japanese dub voices of Julia Roberts, Sharon Stone, and Jodie Foster.  She has also served as a lecturer in voice actor courses at Tokyo Animation College.  It seems that some clips of previous episodes have made their way to YouTube, and we will update this post with a link when we find one.

Sailor Moon has finally been referenced in the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. In the Season 5 Episode 13 “Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep?”, the character of Big Macintosh (Brother of Main Character/Mane 6 pony Applejack) does what is compared to a Sailor Moon-like transformation sequence, music and everything, turning him into an Alicorn (Pegasus & Unicorn) Prince/Princess. The episode aired yesterday and already this clip has gained notoriety based on canon jokes as well as the reference. I will be the first to admit that I am a Brony/Pegasister and have been watching this series for a while but this got me excited.

For those who do not know, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the 4th generation telling of My Little Pony. It has referenced numerous pop culture icons from Batman to Indiana Jones to even “the Big Lebowski”. This Sailor Moon reference (as well as the Phillip K. Dick reference to the science-fiction novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” in the title) are just the two newest cultural references that the show has made.

For those who wish to watch the episode, the episodes should be on Netflix soon and can be found with an internet search or on Itunes or Amazon.

With the coming of spring also comes the announcement of another Sailor Moon Pullip Style Doll… Taeyang is a companion doll to the original Pullip line and the first of the Sailor Moon Taeyang dolls is the one and only Tuxedo Kamen.  Tuxedo Kamen sells for ¥18000 (About $150) retail or the premium version for ¥19440 (about $161.87) on the Bandai.Jp website, which comes with a rose as well. For US orders, Pullip Style has the doll for sale for $135.  Information on the doll can be found on the Sailor Moon Collectibles website as well as the Official Sailor Moon website (Site is in JP). The doll is currently only available for Pre-order with shipping starting in April 2015.

So if you are an Avid Sailor Moon doll collector or a Pullip Doll collector, I recommend checking this doll out.

Hello Sailor Moon Fans!

Now the end of Crystal season 1 is over and Season 2 is among us,  it is noticed  that the box sets for season 1 are still coming out. Box Set 3 of Sailor Moon Crystal, which includes episode 5-6 came out on December 10, 2014.

Box Set 3 of Crystal features the lovely Hino Rei/Sailor Mars on the box.

Like most of the box sets from before, this one comes with the Box Packaging, the Mars Heshin/Transformation pen charm for the charm bracelet from box set 1, as well as the 24 page colored booklet.  The set goes for 7020 Yen after taxes (about $60.00) on the sales website CD Japan.

Box set 4 of Sailor Moon Crystal features the lovely Kino Makoto/Sailor Jupiter on the box.  Box Set 4 was released January 14, 2015. It includes episodes 7-8 of the first season.

Box Set 4 comes with the Box packaging, the Jupiter Heshin/Transformation Pen Charm for the Charm bracelet as well as its own 24 page color booklet. It is priced at 7020 Yen after taxes (about $60) on the sales website CD Japan.

Finally, Box set 5 of Sailor Moon Crystal was released on February 11, 2015. It features the lovely Aino Minako/Sailor Venus on the cover, just in time for Valentines Day. It contains episodes 9-10 of the first season.

Box set 5 comes with the box packaging, the Venus Heshin/Transformation Pen Charm for the Charm bracelet as well as its own 24 page color booklet. It is priced at 7020 Yen after taxes (about $60) on the sales website CD Japan.

It should be noted that these are the Limited Edition Blu-Ray box sets. The regular Blu-Ray sets are 4500 Yen (About $38) and the regular DVD sets are 3500 Yen (About $30). These can be accessed from the limited edition pages. These come with just the DVD.

I have currently not found dates for box sets 6 and 7 but once I find out, I will update with those dates.
